A Program for New Parents Experiencing the Transition to Parenthood

At Golden Assessments, we believe the greatest gift you can give your child is a strong relationship with your partner and we are thrilled to offer the Bringing Baby Home Program! Bringing Baby Home is a workshop for couples designed by relationship experts, Drs. John and Julie Gottman, that combines scientific research and public education to improve the quality of life for babies and children by strengthening their families.

We understand that the transition to parenthood, while joyous, can be challenging. We understand that the physical, emotional, and financial stresses of new parenthood can make it difficult to for couples to find the time and energy to connect with one another. Fortunately, research has shown that couples who attend the Bringing Baby Home workshop have higher relationship quality, better parent-baby relationships, and lower maternal postpartum depression and baby blues.

In a relaxed and supportive environment led by certified Bringing Baby Home educator, Dr. Grace Howarth, parents will learn to strengthen their relationship and positively foster their baby’s development. In particular, couples will learn to:

Prepare for the transition to parenthood
Maintain relationship satisfaction after having a baby
Promote positive parent-baby integrations
Promote quality involvement for both parents
Reduce the incidence or severity of postpartum mood disorders

This workshop is designed for expectant couples as well as those who are new parents. We also welcome infants who are not yet crawling.
